There are two basic types of inputs: Displacement and Applied force. Displacement inputs actually control the movements of the mass they are connected to, regardless of its mass. Applied forces are just that, forces that are applied to the mass.
There are several waveforms for the inputs. The sinusoidal, triangular, and square waves are cyclic and self-explanatory. The step input Moves a certain amount and then holds there. The user wave is explained in an upcoming help box.
The duration field sets how long in the simulation the input will be active. When the simulated time reaches the duration, the input will shut itself off and allow the system to vibrate freely.
The User waveform is similar to the non-linear springs and dampers in that you define its behavior. Type an equation to describe it. You may use "t" (time), "pi", and "e".
